Menzshed Manawatu
Health and safety enhanced with new more efficient dust extraction due to generous grant.
Menzshed Manawatu is in the process of replacing the PVC dust extraction system with a steel one to reduce the dust in the venue and make it a safer place to work. A grant was provided by the Palmerston North Community Leisure Centre management group who are responsible to run and maintain the PNCC owned Leisure Centre in Ferguson Street. Funds are generated through the use of the centre by a wide and diverse number of groups. The Council encourage excess funds to be put back into the community so the Menzshed was a logical cause to support as they support many charities with the work they do. Another of these groups is the Repair Cafe which is held at the Leisure Centre and which a good number of Menzshed members attend and support.
